Chara and Niko met whilst studying in Liverpool at a Greek bar called Charmers. They decided to get married after a holiday together and where better to do it but on the island they fell in love with; Santorini.Their special day was inspired by the island and their theme was blue and white, the colours of the beautiful island. Here they share their special day with us.

Bride’s top tip: No need for any extra decorations at the church or the venue as the beauty of the island speaks for itself.

Groom’s top tip: Enjoy every moment of it!

The dress: Caroline Castigliano, Knightsbridge London. My dress was a luxurious silk gown, cut to look sexy, liquid and feminine. It was sophisticated, elegant and bias cut, designed to honour every aspect of the feminine spirit and to worship every curve of the body, sexy open back with diamond straps.

The suit: Niko wore an Aquascutum personally tailored two-piece dark grey zegna suit, Prada shoes, Dolce & Gabbana white shirt.

The accessories: Chara wore a Swarovski diamante bracelet, Jimmy Choo Chinese mirror sandals and diamond earrings from Goldsmith. The plain and carefree look.

Bridesmaid/Best man: We had one Bridesmaid and she wore a sky blue Chiffon A-Line halter neck dress with gold Gucci shoes. Our best man wore a black suit from Bitsianis Thessaloniki and a white shirt.

The Venue: Mario Taverna by the Beach. Situated where the surf meets the beach in Ayia Paraskevi Monolithos.

The favours & flowers: We chose black Calla lilies for the bouquet and buttonholes. For the church we only had candles and seashells. Like I said no need for too many decorations and flowers as the island’s beauty said it all.  The favours were little white boats made of fildesi with a sky blue net tulle and 5 pebbled shaped marzipan sweets. We also gave away some traditional honey pots with nuts.

Menu & Music: We chose a large selection of fresh seafood dishes and unlimited white and red local wine! The music was Greek laika, Nisiotika and our first dance was a Zebekiko. We had a great evening!

Cake: Our cake was two tiered, sea blue with white seashells. The filling was strawberry, chocolate and    caramelized nuts. It was made by a local Greek shop in Fira Imerovigli.

Special Touches: On the way to church I went barefooted and felt soat ease and carefree. The whole day felt like this and I think our guests appreciated this as much as we did! It was the perfect day and it exceeded    our expectations!
