Darren and Alexia met on www.match.com! He had planned to propose on a theatre night out in London but couldn’t wait so he proposed to Alexia at home before going out! Their beautiful wedding ceremony was held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of All Saints in Camden Town and the reception followed at the May Fair Hotel London. Here they share their special day with our readers.

The Bride’s Dress: I found my dress at Mirror Mirror in Islington. I knew the style that I wanted but I still tried on a variety of dresses, some I would never have tried on but looked great when I did. I eventually settled on ‘the one’ which was called ‘Alma’ by Provonias and found in the 2011 Glamour Collection. It was an ivory gown made of torrino taffeta.

The Bride’s Accessories: I wore a cathedral style veil which was adorned with Swarovski Crystals and a diamante tiara. My earrings and bracelet we bought from VJewellers (pg.2) who also helped us design the most beautiful engagement ring and both our wedding rings.

The Groom’s Suit: My suit was bought from Mia Sposa (formerly known as Pronuptia pg. 7). I had an ‘Oxford’ tailcoat suite, ivory silk waistcoat and an orange cravat to match the colour theme.

Flowers: Helen at Burgeon Floral Design (pg.11) was absolutely brilliant. She created masterpieces using red roses with crystals on each, orange roses and cerise peonies. The top table and tables were all decorated with
stunning floral designs.

The Cake: The cake was made by Aroma Patisserie (Palmers Green). It was absolutely scrumptious. It was a three tiered cake largest tier carrot cake, middle tier marble cake and top tier fruit cake. Helen from Burgeon then decorated it with flowers matching the colour scheme. It looked gorgeous!

The Venue: The reception was held at the May Fair Hotel in London. The creative team at Gold Star Décor (pg. 21) dressed the stage and provided a backdrop behind the top table. We hired chairs from I am Wedding Hire.

The team at the May Fair Hotel were absolutely amazing and helped coordinate everything for us. A special thank you to
Andreas at the May Fair Hotel who acted as our wedding coordinator and was simply fantastic.

Special Moment: Whilst having our photos taken , we took a quick break and popped into Guy Richies pub the Punchbowl for a drink.

Photographer/ Videographer: We used award winning Gavin Hart Photography who created the most stunning memories from the day. The Wedding Cinema discreetly filmed the entire day and presented us with our ‘movie’ to which we laughed and cried whilst watching it.

Thank you to Gavin Hart Photography for the images used in this article.
