Tasos and Ioanna met on MySpace! After exchanging many messages and then meeting and getting along Tasos proposed in April 2010. He was going to propose over a romantic dinner but instead he decided to be a little wacky and started an argument whilst in bed and then proposed! They got married at The Greek Orthodox Church of All Saints in Camden Town London and the reception followed at the Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel on the Embankment. Here they share their special day with you.

The accessories: In my hair I had a few Swarovski crystal pins and I wore a long veil made of sparkling chiffon that matched one of the layers on my dress. I wore my mum’s diamond earrings and my shoes were fuchsia pink to match the colour scheme of the day!

The dress: I bought my dress in Thessaloniki Greece ten months before the wedding from a store called Demitrios. The dress was strapless with a sweetheart bustier tightly fitted all the way to my mid hips where it then opened out into many layers of chiffon, lace and silk. The dress had a very modern twist to it as there was a big bow connecting the body-corset part with the bottom part of the dress. I loved it!

The suit: I wore a suit made by Jones & Jones in Oakwood London. It was a light grey suite and I wore a white shirt with a pink tie to match the colour scheme!

Stag & Hen parties: Hen: Night at a hotel in Hertfordshire Evening: Restaurant meal then onto a wild night out at a local club. Next Day: Spa treatments at Sopwel House. Stag party: Coach to Brighton Pub dinner and then onto a gentleman’s club and a nightclub.

The ceremony: We tried to keep it quite traditional. Tasos and all the guests waited for me at the front of the church until I arrived. There my father gave me away and then together we followed the priest into the church. It was amazing!

Special moment: I will always treasure the moment Tasos took my hand outside the church and whispered into my ear that I looked beautiful.

Theme: We wanted a romantic theme with a modern twist and hence chose white, baby pink and fuchsia pink. The cake, flowers and favours were all matching. I even wore fuchsia pink heels!

The cake: The cake was made by Carmen Tarry. It had three white iced round layers each a different flavour, lemon,
chocolate and carrot cake. Each layer was decorated with Swarovski crystals, baby pink ribbon and between each layer, fresh roses. It was absolutely beautiful.

The music: The live band we had were called Connexions. They played a mixture of Greek and English songs, modern and traditional. They were brilliant.

The photographer: Our photographer was Adam Adamou from Photography By Adam. We could not have asked for a better photographer. We had the most amazing pictures taken and he made us feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the day. We wanted a modern twist but also a romantic feel and Adam had the best ideas to make it happen. We wanted to invest in good pictures as these are what will remain as memories of our special day. We chose the right man for the job. Thank you.

Honeymoon: As Ioanna is from Greece we had a second reception back in her home town of Kavala where family and friends who did not attend the big day in London could join in the celebrations! We then ended up staying for one week at Porto Carras Resort in Halkidiki soaking up the sun by the pool and enjoying lots of spa treatments.

YGWG would like to thank Photography by Adam (pg.49 ) for the images featured here and the front cover spread.
